Research and Development :-

1.      MoU with MIER College of Education for quality improvement.

2.      Paper presented by Principal of the college Dr. Vikram Gulati and HoD of the college Sunita Kaul in national seminar held at Central University of Jammu on the theme ‘Priorities and Directions in Teacher Education’(Feb 2014& 15 )

3.      Two days workshop on “Improvisation of Teaching Aids” organised by Department of Educational Studies and Environmental Sciences, Central University of Jammu was attended by Madam Nitu Shandalya, Pallavi Gupta and Sunita Kaul.

4.      Five days workshop on value education and spirituality for better life was organised in Mount Abu, Rajasthan by Prajapati Brahamkumari Ishawari Vishav Vidhayalya in September 2011 by six staff members of the college namely Miss Hari Priya, Manu, Anju, Puru, Sheetal and Sunita Kaul.

5.      Paper presented and sent for publication in National Seminar on Paradigm Shift in curriculum.

6.      Paper presented and sent for publication in the light of sessional work.

Faculty Development :-

1.      Steps undertaken for faculty development are as under :-

a)      Conduct of internal training programmes on fortnight basis.

b)      Conduct of training programme on sessional work and field work by resource persons of different institutions.

c)      Use of technology and online resources for staff development.

d)     Training programme in collaboration with other institution like MIER (autonomous college).

e)      Conduct of a training programme organised by Department of Education, University of Jammu.

f)       MoU with MIER (autonomous college) from 2016 onwards for quality improvement.

 

2.      Faculty deputed for training programmes/workshop :-

a)      All faculty members were deputed for short training programmes related to compilation of school records in experimental school.

b)      Two staff members Sunita Kaul and Monica Verma were sent to Department of Education, University of Jammu for attending workshop based on curriculum transaction(twice a session).

c)      Staff members were sent to MIER for developing quality education.

d)     Many resource persons from different institutions like SIE, APS, KV, DIET, Anganwadi, ASHA school were deputed by their respective heads for providing training to the faculty of college related to the smooth functioning of internship and sessional work.

e)      Prof. J.N. Baliya, Dept of Education, Central University of Jammu were invited for giving guest lecture on ‘Emerging Challenges for future teachers’.

1.      Activities undergone for placement of students in last five years :-

a)      Interaction of school principals and pupil teachers.

b)      Visit of college students to different institutions.

c)      Inviting the placed alumni for interaction with the students.

d)     Conduct of personality and skill development programmes for enhancing placement skills.

2.      Number and name of companies where students actively participated for placement :-

a)      From 2011-2015 round about 73 students have been absorbed by APS Udhampur.

b)      18 students have been placed in APS (Dhar Road) w.e.f. 2011.

c)      KV-I and KV-II have given opportunity to 70 students to work in their institutions.

d)     It was 13 in Navuday vidhyalae , 110 in state public schools and 167 in private schools who were fortunate from Shivalik College of Education to work in these institutions.

3.      Percentage of placement :-

a)      Near about 18% in 2011, 26% in 2012, 32% in 2013, 54% in 2014 and 44% in 2015 of students from Shivalik College of Education were placed in different institutions.
